New Universality Class of Antiferromagnetic Phase Transition in CsMnBr_3

The critical exponents y and v of an XY antiferromagnet on a layered-triangular Ratlice, CsMnBr., have been measured by neutron scattering. They are 7=l.10f0.05and v=0.57f0.03 in the reduced temperature range 0.015<c<0.1 above the N<:eltemperature. These and the previously measured p show that this phase transitionbelongs to the universality class characterized by the 042) symmetry orde'r-parameterin three dimensions, as calculated by Kawamura.
