High Field Magnetoresistance and de Haas-van Alphen Effect in LaNi

The transverse magnetoresistance and de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) effect in LaNihave been studied in the fields up to 150k0e. It was found from themagnetoresistance that the Fermi surface of LaNi contains two open surfaceselongated along the b- and c-axes. Many dHvA branches with the frequencies rangedfrom 7 X 10' Oe to 1.5 X 10' Oe were found in the fundamental planes. The cyclotroneffective masses range from O.4m. to 3.3mg.LaNi, magnetoresistance, de Haas-van Alphen effect, Fermi surface
