The Tetracritical Point of TGSe-DTGSe System

The temperature dependences of the spontaneous polarization of triglycine selenate(TGSe) -deuterated triglycine selenate (DTGSe) system were measured at severalhydrostatic pressures p and DTGSe concentrations x, and the tricritical lines in thep - x plane were determined. It is found that two tricritical lines exist in TGSe-DTGSesystem, and are confluent at 7>:2-F-lkbar, .X"=0.38-F-0.1 and I=32-f2.5'C. Thisconfluent point is the first example of the tetracritical point in ferroelectrics.
