Central Peak in a Slightly Deuterated KH_3(SeO_3)_2 Crystal Studied by Light Scattering

In the Brillouin scattering spectra of a slightly deuterated KH3(Se03). crystalhas been observed a central peak, of which intensity diverges near the transitiontemperature -58.6'C. The central peak is independent of the history of thespecimen and shows VH polarization. This experimental result shows that theminor deuterium substituted ror hydrogen is one or the origirt or the centrat pearin the hydrogen-bonded ferroelastic KHz(Sea,)..
