^<75>As Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Study on Antiferroelectric NH_4H_2AsO_4 in the Paraelectric Phase

The angular and tennperattmre dependence of tlte "As NMR linev,'idth ofantiferroelectric NH.H2AS0. is investigated in tlte paraelectric phase. A COIII-parison of the theoretical and experintental angtzlar dependences of tlce anon'mlouspart of the "As ljnewidth for the c-axis rotation suggests that the line broadening'near T. is attributed to the antiferroelectric flt?ctuations of electric dipoles. It isfound that the quadrupole frequency departs fro?ta tlce linear dependence ontemperature in the sanae texttperature range of 0? -55.4'C where the ano?a'na]y oflinewidth is observed. On the basis of this fact, the tentperature dependence ofthe quadrtupole frequency near T. is interpreted by taking accotmnt of an increasein the fraction of the antiferroelectric configurations.
