We investigate the small component effects (SCE) of constituent quark spinors in the bound quark system. The SCE can be clearly seen in the leptonic decays of mesons and level splittings between ground and 1st radially excited states of the light quarkoniums. In various respects, there exist resemblances between quarkoniums and other ordinary bound states (e.g.,positronium, hydrogen atom and so on).
