Dynamical Effects of a `Long' Range Quark Interaction in heavy Quarkonium : Particles and Fields

The dynamical mechanism of chiral symmetry breaking by 'long' range interaction is examined for heavy quarks. We assume the static interaction is represented by a screened linear potential with Lorentz vector coupling. Using the corresponding interaction kernel, we calculate quark self-energy and quark-gluon vertex corrections in the large quark mass case. The implications to charmonium and bottomonium spectra are discussed.
