The Naive Quartet Quark Model and the ψ's

The naive quartet quark model approach to the ψ-particle is developed. Narrow decay widths of the ψ's are explained on the basis of the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka rule. SU(4) mass formula results in a scaling relation δ_<ψφ>=f(δ_<ψω>). Small δ_<ψφ> required by the narrow width of ψ(3.1) is consistent with the mass formula. The relatively large Γ(ψ(3.7)⇾ψ(3.1) +2π) is a result of large Q^^-Q⋴-coupling which also explains the dominance of ρ+2π decay mode ofρ'(1.6) decay. The breaking of the O-Z-I rule through ⋴ is about 8% in amplitude. No sensible difference between two assignments for ψ(3.7) (orbital and radial excitations) is found.
