The Nambu-Salpeter-Bethe equation in the pion-ladder approximation for the ^<1>S_0 state of the nucleon-nucleon scattering is solved numerically. In this calculation, we neglect the con tribution from the negative energy amplitudes in the elastic energy region. The results obtained here agree qualitatively with, but are quantitatively different from the corresponding 3-dimen sional calculation. This difference is caused by our full counting of the retardation effect which is treated incompletely in the 3-dimensional calculation.
