Simultaneous and Quantitative Analysis of Alkaloids in Evodia Fruit(呉茱萸)

A method was establised for the simultaneous and quantitative analysis of the seven major alkaloids, hydroxyevodiamine (I), evodiamine (II), rutaecarpine (III), 1-methyl-2-[(Z)-6-undecenyl]-4 (1H)-quinolone (IV), 1-methyl-2-undecyl-4 (1H)-quinolone (V), evocarpine (VI) and dihydroevocarpine (VII) in "Evodia Fruit (呉茱萸)" by HPLC. The method is characterized by the simultaneous presentation of the whole alkaloid profile. The HPLC was carried out by using an Inertsil ODS column with a gradient solvent system (H_2O-MeCN) at 40℃ and a UV detector (254 nm). We attempted to evaluate old and new Evodia Fruit by this method.
