Transient behavior of secorndary emission from the F center in KCI is investigatedin the picosecond time region at 77 K. Time response of resonant Raman scattering(RRS), hot luminescence (Hl,) and ordinary luminescence (0L) components is ob-served up to the Raman shift of 5600 cm '. The degree of linear polarization due tothe RRS and HL components separated from the CL component is determined as afunction of Raman shift. This result exhibits the large polarization correlation up tothe onset region of OL and is in contrast to the large depolarization observed by thestationary excitation. Therefore, it is found that the depolarization in the onsetregion of OL observed by the stationary excitation is due to fate inclusion of the un-polarized CL component in the degree of polarization of l-IL, but not due to the 2p-2snonradiative transition.
