A ^7Li-NMR Study on Spinel LiMn_2O_4 : the Evidence of an Aniferromanetic Transition at 〜40K

IVIagnetic properties of' a polycrystalline satmple of LiMnzOj xvere itavestigated using a "Linuclear magnetic resonance ("Li-NIVIR) techniqtre in the tenrperature range between 4.2 and300K. It was fotrnd tlaat both the slaift (A) and tire ['trll widtlt at half taaaxizntrm (FNVHIVI) ofthe Li-NIVIR line itacreased taaonotonically with loxvering ternjcerattrre f'rom 300 to 40 K, then,increased abrtrptly at around 40 K and looked to level off' to constant v?rlttes with ftrrther loxveringtemperattrre. The values of K and FWHMI at 4.21< were estizta?tted to be atbout 0.7% and 3.2kOe,respectively. Additionally, FWHM ;rt 4.2 K seezned to Ice indeper'xdent of an external naagneticfield. Ftrrthertnore, the teuaaperattrre dependence of 21, spin-lattice relaxation rate (T.- ') exhibiteda sharp tnaxirnutaa at around 40 K. These restrlts indicated tlaat the taaoments of IVIn ions orderedantiferrornagnetically loelow the Neel tennperattrre 'Z'N : 40 t<.
