Neutron powder diffraction studies have been performed to study the unusualmagnetic ordering in half-metctllic UNiSn with the c:ubic MgAgAs-type structure. Theresult indicates that the magnetic structure of UNJiSn is a type-l antiferromagneticstructure with the ordered uranium moment of 1.55 f 0.10 p.. The Neel temperatureis 46"2 K, which coincides with the transition temperature from semiconductor tometal in electrical conductivity. We therefore propose that the development of thetype-I antiferromagnetism UNiSn strongly suppresses antiferrc>magnetic spin fluctua-tions and leads to disappearance of the semiconducting energy gap.
