Netrtron inelastic scattering sttmdies have been performed on the quasi-two-dimensional spin-gap system CaVj Og. An energy gap of about 10 rneV has been clearly observed in the magneticexcitation spectra at low temperatures. The Q-point of the minimum excitation energy may notcorrespond to the so-called (m, 7T), (7T, 0) or F-points in the reciprocal cell of the two-dimensionaltetragonal lattice. With decreasing temperature, the scattering intensity in the energy regionaround 12 meV begins to increase at abotmt TOO K, which almost coincides with the temperatureat which the susceptibility has a maximum value. This resvrlt may provide irnportant informationto trnderstand the "spin-gap anomaly" of high-'Z'. oxides.
