ESR Study of PB^<3+> Ions in Cubic PbF_2 Crystals Irradiated with γ-Rays and Neutrons at Low Temperatures

The ESR spectra of Pb" ions in cubic PbF. crystals produced by irradiationwith 7-rays and neutrons at low temperatures have been studied. Besides a largehyperfine structure frona "'Pb nucleus a complex superhyperfine structure due tothe interactions with surrounding F and Pb nuclei is observed. From Breit-Rabidiagram the hyperfine splitting constant ,{("'Pb) can be determined ; its reductionwith regard to the free ion value is discussed. Froxn the measured angular depend-ence of the superhyperfine structure the principal values A(F)77, /{(F). and a("'Pb)of the SHF-tensors are obtained. This induced ESR can be bleached thermally ataround 175 K.
