The specific heat C of CtrNb3O(5 xvith qtr?tsi-one-ditaaensiotaal zig-z?tg spin S = 172 chatinshas been uneasttred in the tetaaperattrre (T) range between 1.6 K and 40 K. For the orthorluoutabic phase, a slaarp anonaaal3' of C is obserx'ed at the antiferrorn?tgnetic transitiott tezaaperattrreTy x 7.3 K. The T-dependence of C of tl?e zaaonoclinic phstse, xvhose grotrrad state has 21 spungap, can toe xvell described by the exch?'tnge pararaaeters deteruaained by fitting the naagnetic SETS-ceptibility X calctrlated for a raaodel of' a ferroraa?tgruetic-anti['errornagnetic alternatrng borad to theexperitauentally obtained X. The g;tp-valtre estitaaated frotaa the IOXV tetaaper'atttre behavior of C isabout 21 K, xvhich is also consistent with the ones obtained by otlaer ttaeastrretauents. Resttlts of thetneastrrernents of the naaagraetic strsceptibilities .y ?tnd the specific heats C of' IN/I -CLII ..Zn.Nbz05(O< x< 0.5) and their strtrcttrral parataaeters are also presented.
