The valence of Ce in cv-Ce,AN was investigated by means of XPS measurements in atemperature range from 300 K to 3.7 K. Below [20 K, the presence of Ce" wasdetected, and its relative intensity Z(Ce"/ Ce") increased with decreasing tempera-lure, An anomaly of the magnetic susceptibility near 100 K was successfully explainedby taking account of the valence change.valence fluctuation, cv-Ce,Al, XPS
