The valence band structure of transition-metal compounds was studied by X-rayspectroscopic technique. The M.,. omission band spectra, M., photoelectricyield spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectra of valence band of Ni-, Co-, Fe-and Mua-oxides and chlorides were meastu'ed and compared with those spectraof the respective metals. Interrelations among these three different types of spectrawere investigated for each element. The structures observed in those spectra wereanalyzed, resulting in consistency with the models proposed previously.
