The "Sc, "Co and "81 nuclear raaagnetic resonances in the ternary conupound Sc5Co,jSi)ghave been studied. Quadrtrpole splitted powder-p?ttterns were observed witla Z/Q : e'qQ/1400.41 lVIHz and r7 Th 0 f'or "'Sc, and Z/Q : 1.68 IVIHz and r7 ':: 0.44 ['or "Co, respectively. Thetemperature independent Knight shifts and tl?e Korringa-like behaviors of' the relaxation rateindicate that tlae system belongs to Pauli parana?tgnetic naetals: A("Sc) x 0% and (TjT) '0.03 (sK) ' f'or "Sc; arud A("Co) -: O.65% and (V'tl) " : 1,0 (sK) ' for "Co. The analysisof' the Kniglat shi['ts and the relaxation rates leads to a concltrsion that the density of states attlae Ferrni level is dotninated by the Co d batads of pentagon-hexagon Ia5'ers, while the d bandsof Sc layers which separate tlae pentagon-hexagon layers are near ettapty.
