Effect of Magnetic Impurities on Itinerant Antiferromagnetism

Magnetic properties of Cr-Fe alloy are studied on the basis of the two bandmodel. It is assttmed that the localized naoment of Fe l'xas the role of the scatteringcenter and the role which enhances the magnetostrictive effect ; The scatteringeffects of the intra- and the interband processes with the Coulonab and the s-dinteractions are investizated in detail. Tlte ma:etost?'ictive effect is exnlianced sythe process in which electrons flow from the localized moznent to the conductionband with the volunae chanse. The rhenonaenoloxical consideration shows thatthe nnaaetostrictive effect is ecrujvalent to the negative electron reservoir. Thephase diagra?ta, the wave number of the spin density wave and the jump in thethernaal expansion at the N<Sel temperature are calcttlated in satisfactory agree-ment with experinaents.
