Low Temperature Specific Heat of MnP; Experiment and Analysis

Specific heat in ferromagnetic phase, screw phase and fan phase of MnP havebeen measured from 1.5 K to 8.0 K. In the ferromagnetic phase, electronic andphonon specific heat are separated from the magnon specific heat estimatedfrom the previous experiment. The following values are obtained. 7""'=9.65f0.5mj/mole?deg' and 0.=570i'g3 K. The large value of 7""' suggests that thed-electrons exist at the Fermi level and form bands. In the screw and the fanphases, the y values are evaluated to be, 7""-=5.4x7.6 mj/mole=deg" and7"'=6.9x9.l mj/mole?deg", decreasing by 20N30 % from y""'. This is consistentwith the nesting model proposed before.
