Nature of Doped Electrons in Nd_<2-x>Ce_xCuO_4.II. : Electronic Band Structures of Nd_2CuO_4 Type LaThCuO_4

• The APW band calculations for LaThCuO. with Nd.Cu0. type crystal structurewere performed with two kinds of structure for the La and Th layers. It was shownthat, as the Th doping increases in La.Cu0., the Cu d-O p antibonding band on theCub. layer rises steadily but the La-Th d (xy) band falls sharply with the bottom atthe X point. In LaThCuO., the bottom of d (xy) band is well below the top of the an-tibonding band as well as the Fermi energy. Various experimental results in the Th orCe doped NdzCuO. are explained by the present result.[band theory, high T. superconductor, Nd.Cu0. type crystal structure, ]] Nd. .Ce,Cub., LaThCu0.l
