Single Crystal Growth,Normal and Superconducting Properties of UPd_2Al_3

Normal and superconducting properties of single crystalline UPdzAl3 have been studied bystatic magnetization, AC susceptibility and magnetoresistance measurements. In the norrnalstate, an open orbit is found to exist along the [00013 direction from a saturated magnetoresis-tance. In the superconducting state, a pronounced peak effect is observed just below the uppercrutical field H.3. The peak consists of two strtrctures at low temperatures, becomes one above0.6 K and continues up to a low field of 0.1 T. These experimental results are compared to thosebased on the FFLO model. The paraznagnetic effect in superconductivity is also found by thestatic magnetization measurement.
