Improvement of Thermoelectric Characteristic of [Ca2CoO3]x[CoO2] Thin Films by Controlling Their Microstructures

We report on the synthesis of [Ca2CoO3]x[CoO2] (CCO) films doped with BaZrO3 nanoparticles and their electrical/thermoelectric properties. The $S^{2}/\rho$ of $c$-axis-oriented BaZrO3 (BZO)-doped CCO films is the same as the highest $S^{2}/\rho$ of nondoped CCO films reported in our previous work. Furthermore, the phonon thermal conductivity changed with decreasing thermal diffusivity owing to the BZO or defects/dislocations induced by microstructures.
