• Commercially available Chinese medicinal preparations were extracted successively with n-hexane, chloroform and methanol, and the extracts were developed on silica gel GF_<254> plate using benzene-acetone (4:1) for hexane-extract, benzene-acetone (1:1) for chloroform-extract, and BuOH-AcOH-H_2O (12:3:5) for methanolic extract. The developed plates were examined using a Shimadzu Dual-wavelength TLC Zig-zag Scanner. For the evaluation of those medicinal preparations, the profile of TLC thus obtained may be used for comparison purposes.
