Five New Triterpene Glycosides from Centella asiatica

Five new triterpene glycosides (2-6), together with asiaticoside (1), kaempterol, and quercetin, were isolated from the aerial parts of Centella asiatica (Umbelliferae). The structures of 2-6 were determined by spectral analysis and alkaline hydrolysis. The isolated triterpenes did not exhibit apparent cytotoxicity against HL-60, HSC-2, HSG, and HGF cell lines, up to 500 μg/mL.
