Isolation of Alkaloids from Plant Materials by the Combination of Ion-pair Extraction and Preparative Ion-pair Chromatography Using Sodium Perchlorate. II : Sinomeni Caulis et Rhizoma

A quaternary alkaloid fraction from Sinomeni Caulis et Rhizoma (climbing stem and rhizome of Sinomenium acutum REHDER et WILSON) was examined by the combination of ion-pair extraction and preparative ion-pair HPLC, in both sodium per chlorate being used as the ion-pair reagent. A new alkaloid having naturally rare dibenzopyrrocoline skelton and five known alkaloids, (+)-menisperine, (+)-laurifoline, dehydrodiscretine, epiberberine and palmatine were identified in the fraction. The structure of the new dibenzopyrrocoline alkaloid named acutupyrrocoline was determined by instrumental analysis, mainly by the two-dimensional NMR techniques.
