Determination of Sweet Components in Stevia rebaudiana by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography : Ultraviolet Detection

Quantitative determination of sweet components (stevioside and rebaudioside A) in Stevia rebaudiana was made by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. Microanalysis by UV detection at 210 nm was successfully carried out within 10 min by using a combination of LiChrosorb NH, column and mixed solvent system of acetonitrile and water. This method is applicable to the analysis of these sweet components not only in Stevia rebaudiana but also in samples containing coexisting various sugars.
