概要

• A spectrophotometric method for determination of salicylaldehyde (SA) with 1,3-diphenyl-2-thiohydantoin (DPTH) is described. The method is based on the formation of a pigment having an absorption maximum at around 510nm from SA in acetone in the presence of sodium hydroxide. This method is simple and allows the determination of SA in the concentration range of 0.2-10μM/ml.
