Formation of Copper Phthalocyanine Polymer Films by the Double Source Evaporation of Tetracyanobenzene and Copper

By the double source evaporation of Cu and tetracyanobenzene, films are obtained which are verified to be made of copper phthalocyanine polymer by comparing their IR and VlS/UV spectra with those of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc). The π→π^* absorption bands observed around 600 nm in the spectrum of CuPc almost fade away in that of the obtained film because the π orbitals spread all over the polymer. The conductivity at room temperature is about 2×10^<-4>Scm^<-1>. The activation energy calculated from temperature dependence of the conductivity is about 0.055 eV.
