Enhancement of Photochromism in Tungstic Acid Gels with Some Organic Additives: Effects of End Groups

A systematic investigation was performed on photochromism of tungstic acid gets with some organic additives (alcohol, aldehyde, carboxylic acid and ketone). It was found that all of the tungstic acid gets containing alchols showed remarkable enhancement of photochromism. The enhancement of photochromism in tungstic acid gets is discussed in terms of the photoactivity activated by alcohols.
