Bromine NMR Study of Cupric Compounds (C_nH_<2n+1>NH_3)_2CuBr_4 (n=1, 2)

The spin structure of (C.H..;.NH3).CuBr. (m=I, 2) is studied by Br NMRat 1.7 K. In (C.H5NH.).CuBr., the magnetic space group is Pb'c'a type andthe moment direction inclines at an angle of 49,5' with the c-axis. A weak fer-romagnetic moment appears along to the c-axis. The anisotropic exchange fieldis estimated to be 2.5 k0e. The inter-layer exchange field and the out-of-layeranisotropy field are much smaller th.an previously reported values. The parame-ters of Br nuclear spin Hamiltonian are also obtained. In (CH3NH.)2CUBI'.,the moment direction inclines at 2"/' with the c-axis. It is difficult to interpretthe NMR results by the two-sublattice model. A model of the four-sublatticeantiferromagnet is developped.
