The DC magnetization M and magnetic susceptibilityχwere measured for YBa_2Co_3O_y sintered samples. The DCχof a type 1 sample showed a ferromagnetic Curie-Weiss Behavior in 100 K<T<350 K, and M increased steeply ferromagnetically at about 50 K. In the DCχ of the type 2 sample, the two anomalies appeared successively at 140 K and 180 K. THe crystal field effect for the Co spin and the cancellation of magnetization were pointed out in this report.
