An expression of the thermal expansion for the quasi-one-dimensional Isingmodel has been derived and applied to the experimental result of CsH.P0.reported in the preceding paper. It is found that the anomalous spontaneousstrain in CsH.P0. is explained satisfactorily by the excess term in the thermalstrain caused by the intrachain interaction.
