• Thermalized Frenkel-Kontorova chain was studied numerically at different temperatures and degrees of discreteness. In our calculations, highly discrete and weakly discrete systems were found to show different behavior. It may be due to the fact that in a highly discrete chain, in contrast to a weakly discrete one, not only the continuous sine-Gordon breathers but also the discrete breathers can exist. At the present stage, however, we cannot separate the contributions of the different kinds of localized modes.
