Dielectric Critical Slowing-Down in Hydrogen-Bonded Ferroelectrics:PbHPO_4 and PbDPO_4

Complex dielectric constants of PbHP03 and ]'bDP0. have been studied at fre-quenches from 10' Hz to 10' Hz in the Curie temperature region. The Curie-Weissbehavior of the low-frequency dielectric constant is confirmed. The dielectric disper-sion of the Debye type which shows a critical slowing-down has been observed in bothmaterials. The phase transition is considered to be of an order-disorder type. Theeffects of deuteration in the static and dynamic dielectric properties are discussed.
