The theory of antiferroelectric transition in copper formate tetrahydrate basedupon a dimer model (J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 34 (1973) 888) is exteutded to include thecontribution of anharmonicity in interaction of sublattice polarization. For thecase of zero applied electric field the temperature behavior of the model systemis analyzed with emphases put on the tricritical point, and the peculiarity on-countered around the temperature of saturation of the order parameter is pointedout. The applied field vs temperature phase diagrant is discussed.
