The magnetoresistance Ap of the pseudobinary Gd(A1.-.Cu,). system wasmeasured up to 15 k0e at several temperatures aroumad the Curie point. Thedecrease of Ap with increasing magnetic field is explainable on the molecularfield theory of s-f exchange interactions. The exchange conastant between 4felectrons and conduction electrons estimated front the experimezatal results variesremarkably with the Cu content x and agrees with that estimated from our earlierresistivity measurements without magnetic field. The importance of the concept ofmulti-wave expansion of the exchange constant is agaiza stressed as was inferredfrom our earlier measurements. At the same time, a crucial change in the conduc-Lion band structure is suggested to take place with the increase of x. The bandstructures in ferrom.agnetic and paramagnetic states are also discussed.
