Transport Properties of LaAg_<1-x>In_x,CeAg_<1-x>In_x and RAg (R=Pr,Nd,Gd and Y)

The temperature dependences of the electrical resistivity p and the thermoelectricpower S of LaAg. .In., CeAg. .In. and RAg (R=Pr, Nd, Gd and Y) compoundshave been investigated. In addition, the Hall coefficient 7<. of LaAg. .In. has beenmeasured. The cubic to tetragonal transition at the temperature, 7'., is found to havestrong effects on p, S and 7?. for LaAg. .In., while for CeAg. .In., no change ap-pears in S at 7'.. The In concentration dependences of p, 5, 7?. and T. for LaAg. .In. and CeAg. .In. are discussed on the basis of the band Jahn-Teller model and thes -d interband scattering model. The variations in p and S for RAg with R are dis-cussed in relation to the structural instabilities in RAg.
