Temperature Dependence of Thermal Motion and Position of Hydrogen in Paraelectric KH_2AsO_4 Studied by Neutron Diffraction Structure Analysis

The ternperature dependence of the mean-square thermal tensor of KH.As0. in theparaelectric phase has been investigated by neutron diffraction structure analysis. Allthe tensor elements except zv..(H) are extrapolated to zero and zz.,(H) gives a positiveintercept at 0 K. The temperature dependence of the H-site separation, i, was ob-tained and was compared with that of KH.P0.. The result is well described by theorder-disorder behavior of hydrogen.
