The Atomic Magnetic Moment in bcc Ternary Iron Alloys Fe (Co Mn) and Fe (Co Cr)

In order to determine the magnetic moment of each constituent atom in bccternary iron alloys Fe(CoMn) and Fe(CoCr), measurements of the bulk magneti-zation, M6ssbauer spectra of "Fe nuclei and NMR spin echo spectra of "Conuclei have been made for each sample in entire bcc concentration ranges. It isconcluded that the Co moment in both alloy systems remains nearly constantbeing 1.8 p. and that Fe moment in Fe(CoMn) alloys is determined uniquely asa function of the number of 3d-electrons, while Fe moment in Fe(CoCr) alloysis not. It is inferred that Mn atona in Fe(CoMn) alloys has parallel magneticmoment to the bulk naagnetization and Cr atom in Fe(CoCr) antiparallel magneticmoment.
