NMR Study of Magnetic- Exchange Interactions and Anisotropy in Antiferromagnetic EuTe

The "'Eu NMR signals which are coupled to the high- and low-frequency branchesof the antiferromagnetic resonance in EuTe were observed using a single crystal bythe cw method in magnetic fields up to 21 k0e below 4.2 K. From the zero-field NMRfrequency of the high-frequency branch, the temperature dependence of sublatticemagnetization was obtained. From the spin wave theory, the exchange parameterswere determined as ,7./A.=0.l14:0.003K and J./k.= -0.23lf0.00lK, in goodagreement with those determined by Oliveira et at. With these values the zero-pointspin reduction was calculated to be 2.O5%, and the zero-field "'Eu NMR frequency atabsolute zero to be 266.864f0.003 MHz. The frequency of the NMR low-frequencybranch exhibited the "frequency pulling". The external field dependence of the fre-quency yielded the in-plane anisotropy field H.= 12.4fl.40e at 1.8K.
