Study on the Incommensurate Nature of the Intermediate Phase of RbD_3(SeO_3)_2 by Neutron Diffraction

Search for an interxnediate phase between the para- and ferro-electric phasesof RbD.(Se0.)z was carried out by neutron diffraction. The superlattice reflectionat (2, 0, 0.5) in the ferroelectric phase was foumad to shift to an incomnaensurateposition, (2,0,0.5-F-(5), above the Curie point though the magnitude of theparameter (5 is very small. It increases with jmacreasing temperature and reachesto 0.003 at the paraelectric-to-intermediate transition point which is about 3 Kabove the Curie point.
