Dielectric properties of single crystal (NH.).H(SO.). were measured in a pressureand temperature region of p<8.5 kbar and -l00'C<7'<RT. A broad peak of thedielectric constant along the c'-direction which is found around -25'C at 1 atmbecomes sharp and intense as pressure increases, and then above 5.0 kbar a ferroelectricphase (Phase Vl) appears. Further increase in pressure stabilizes another ferroelectricphase (Phase Vll) in a lower temperature region. The Vl-Vll transition is of the firstorder. Temperature dependence of the spontaneous polarization was measured atvarious pressures. A two-sublattice model is presented to interpret the pressure andtemperature dependence of the dielectric properties of (NH.),II(SO.)..
