The magnetic susceptibilities of molten Ge -Te and Sn-Te alloys have beenmeasured as a function of concentration and temperature. Curves of the isothermalsusceptibilities for Sn-Te system show a large deviation from the Iinearly infer-polated ones at the composition near Sn..Te... On the contrary for moltenGe-Te system a rather small deviation is found around 45 at '/, of Te. From theseresults, the electronic state and chemical bonding in liquid IV-Te system arediscussed in comparison with those in liquid Illb-Te system.
