Isothermal Compressibility and Thermodynamics of Structural Transitions in the Liquid Se-Te System

Sound velocity, v, has been measured to examine the thermodynamics of struc-tural transitions in the liquid Se-Te system. The isothermal compressibility, x.,deduced from v, together with the thermal expansion coefficient, cv, the constantpressure specific heat, C., and the density shows a broad maximum when plotted as afunction of temperature or concentration. It has been shown that tc. is significantlyenhanced by the structural change. Evidence has been presented that the Ehrenfest'srelations are satisfied among the excess parts of tc., cv, and C. associated with thestructural change.sound velocity, isothermal compressibility, Se-Te alloy, Ehrenfest's relation,thermodynamics
