The molar volume of the liquid Se-Te system has been measured using a highenergy 7-ray attenuation method. The thermal expansion coefficient, cv., deducedfrom the dependence on temperature of the molar volume has a minimum whichshifts to the higher temperature with Se concentration. It has been shown that cv. con-sists of two parts, one due to the normal expansion effect and the other associatedwith the structural change in the liquid. The latter has a linear relation with theanomalous part of the specific heat. Discussion is given on a model describing thestructural evolution with tennperature and / or pressure.
