Magnetic Anisotropy Induced by Magnetic Annealing and Cold Rolling for Co and Co-Ni Alloys. I. Experimental

• The uniaxial magnetic anisotropies, A.., induced by magnetic annealing andK.. by cold rolling were investigated for Co and Co-Ni alloys containing Niup to 30'3. The values of K.. obtained for Co-Ni alloys ranged from -4 to8 X IQ' erg/cm' in fairly good agreement with the earlier results. The obtainedvalues of K., are about -2 x 10' erg/cm' for any composition of alloys. Thepole figure analysis by the Schulz's reflection method with X-ray was carried out.The results revealed no texture for the magnetica[Iy annealed specimens. Contrary,for the cold rolled specimens, the crystaJJographic texture was detected, eventhough the magnitude of K.. is smaller than that of K... Influence of annealing onK.. and K., was examined in the range of temperature between 300 and l000'C.By the annealing above the phase transformation temperature the value of K.,is reduced suddenly, while the value of K.( remains unchanged.
