Critical Current Density in Superconducting Nb_3Ge and NbN Films at Fields upto 30 T

The superconducting critical current densities J_c of Nb_3Ge and NbN films prepared by sputtering have been studied in fields up to 30 T for the perpendicular field direction H_⊥ to the film surface and up to 23 T for the parallel field direction H_<//> The Nb_3Ge film exhibits J_c exceeding 1×10^5(1×10^4) A/cm^2 in fields below 21(30) T for H_⊥ and below 23 T for H_<//>. The J_c of the NbN film for H_⊥ is higher than 1×10^5 A/cm^2 in fields below 21 T, while that for H_<//> is much reduced. Their pinning properties and upper critical fields H_<c2> are presented.
