A Theory of Tetragonal-Tetragonal Transition in A-15 Pseudobinary Alloy Nb_3Sn_<1-x>Sb_x

• A simple model of the structural transition in the A-15 type compounds is considered. The tetragonal-tetragonal transition in addition to the cubic-tetragonal transition is shown to exist in the idealized band-Jahn-Teller model if we assume and asymmetry in the electronic density of states of the cubic phase near the tricritical point and near zero temperature, and the numerical results are shown for several electron densities. The results qualitatively reproduce the phase diagram observed in the pseudobinary alloy Nd_3 Sn_<1-x> Sb_x.
